CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment. It is an innovative, FDA-approved, fat-freezing technology that reduces stubborn fat deposits in trouble areas, such as the abdomen, flanks, and under the chin
What areas can be treated with CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is indicated for the treatment of subcutaneous (under the skin) fat in the following areas of the body:
- Love handles, flanks, aka the spare tire
- Upper and lower abdomen
- Inner and outer thighs
- Under the chin
- Bra fat
- Banana roll or back of the thigh
How long do CoolSculpting treatments take?
Each CoolSculpting treatment plan is different. The length of the procedure will depend on which and how many areas of the body are receiving treatment. In some cases, treatment can be done in as little as 35 minutes. Multiple treatments in a single session can extend your treatment time.
When will I see results with CoolSculpting?
Visible results will begin to appear in approximately one to three months after treatment. The final results may take six months or more to appear.
What happens to the fat cells that are frozen in the treatment?
Fat cells frozen in a CoolSculpting procedure are destroyed. They die and are gradually removed through the body’s natural process.
What happens if I gain weight after a CoolSculpting treatment?
CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment, and it is possible to gain weight after your procedure. If this happens, the weight will likely be more evenly distributed throughout your body, not concentrated in pockets of excess fat.
Will health insurance cover CoolSculpting?
As CoolSculpting is an elective cosmetic treatment, it is not covered by health insurance providers or flexible spending account (FSA) companies. At Skintegrity MedSpa, financing is available through CareCredit.
